Interesting double pellet bow
« on: June 23, 2012, 08:34:50 am »
The other day I visited the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford, England with some Paleo minded friends.

I thought this bow was quite unique. It's a bamboo pellet bow made by fixing two bows together. The double string has a pouch, with the pellet being shot above the handle.

I think I need to make one of these!

I tried making a simple pellet bow once. Did the double string and pouch. There is meant to be a technique where you twist you bow hand on release so the ball clears the bow and you hand. It didn't and I shot my hand - it hurt. This construction looks much less painful.

Interesting pics, Mark. Thanks for posting.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
