I hope Barry can make it too, Steve. I'm so glad to hear the Maggie Valley Parkers will be there.

Barry's gotta work 12-hour night shifts that weekend, probably won't make it. :(

I'm going to have to sit this year out, unfortunately.  I'll be heading home from Hatteras Island with the family on the 21st.

Sorry you won't be joining us this year Jonathan...and sorry Barry won't be with us either. Wade better get his butt here!  >:(
If you have an idea what you might be bringing as far as food goes speak up so we can all coordinate. I have a Weber grill. I don't think we have a big grill/cooker coming this year so a few portable grills might be needed. If someone has a bigger cooker I have seasoned red oak for heat.
It is getting time to hang a few tarps, do a little clean up in and around the barn, hunt out and kill all yellowjacket nests. Only found one so far.  ;) and order the Port-a-Jon.   8) I've mowed twice and might go again if I have time.

Pat, me and Bryan were talking a couple days ago, I think the cooker problem is solved. ;) I'll be bringing a good bit of food for sure, not sure exactly what yet.

Be sure and don't forget to rile up all the yallerjackets, stock copperheads in the firepit/well, and strow a few quart jars of chiggers and ticks around in the grass-just wouldn't be the same without 'em.

No copperheads yet this year but we do have a few big(7'+) black snakes. I saw one the other day in the rafters of the barn. Only a few ticks. I think you guys bring the chiggers because they never bother me.  ::)
Is Bryan stealing David's cooker?  ;D

I just learned this week, that my boss is going on vacation starting the 21st and another employee quit.  Me getting off for the 20-22 is pretty iffy at the moment.  grrr  I should know this evening if I'll have off for next weekend.

Dat gone it.  I got my schedule today.  I'm working Friday 20th AND Sunday the 22nd.  It is probably the first time in 3 years I haven't got off when I've requested.  I'm going to see if I can trade with someone, but that's pretty doubtful.

I was looking forward to hanging with you all.  AND, getting some help with this shortie, 50" osage I've been battling for the last 3 weeks trying to tame the twists, reflex and deflex of this little sappling.  I'll post pics when it comes off the form.

I hope you all have a great time.  Bend an bow and elbow for me.
