Im looking into possibly getting a bandsaw for bow making (layouts) and other general stuff around the shop. Just wondering if you guys with experience with them had any advice as to what to look for when Im checking them out. Thanks.

I've got a 14", 1hp Grizzly and it does all I want it to do.  ;)

Check your local Craigslist Regularly!
And be paitent, if you can... :)

I just picked up a Jet 18" Beauty for 40 cents on the dollar, three miles from my house.
She's like new, the original owner only made a few test cuts before his failing health made him give up the shop.

Got her tuned up and humming like a top.
