Osage question
« on: May 17, 2012, 08:49:04 pm »
Awhile back I met a guy that I showed my ironwood bow to and he asked if I ever tried Osage and I told him no that I would like to but I don't have any available in my area so anyway he told me he'd get me some and I told him what I would need and I figured I'd prolly never hear from him again. Well he just called and said he's got me a 12" by 73" log and will be up here around the first week of June. My question is will it be ok in log form with the ends sealed?

It should be fine as long as the ends are sealed good.  You might ask him to spray some bug spray on it so the bugs don't start eating it.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Any type of home defense type sprays should work.  Spray it all over the bark.  Good luck with it.

I used malathion(spelling) from Lowes. Small black bottle that you mix in with water.

You'd better here in WV where I live. Anything at LOWES will kill eggs or stop wood boarers from lays their eggs. I've used lots of different kinds of sprays and they all work. But I've setled on through the years on any outdoor spray. I uselly just pick up the cheapest they have.
