Here's what Ryan had to say about his bow: Well I finished it up. Its a sweet little bow. 60.5" following the contour of the back. I chased the sapwood off and used only heartwood. It is unbacked and draws 40# @ 26" I drew it on tiller to 27", but It looks a little better at 26" so that's what I am calling it.lol Brazilian walnut tip overlays, chocolate deer leather grip and beaver fur silencers finished it off nicely. It does have some string follow. to be expected out of a short recurved stave. Kentucky coffee in my opinion acts a lot like Mulberry. It's nicely grained like osage....but certainly not osage, but does make a good bow. I was hoping for a heavier weight, but we all know how that goes when working with a new species of wood....so much is unknown when you start. The grain is probably the prettiest I have ever used. Just gorgeous. the dark and light purples, pinks and hints of reds.... just something special. not exactly what I wanted out of it, but a fine bow just the same. next one will be heavier for sure..lol The string lines up pretty good. cant really get a "self" recurve perfect when your dealing with a natural stave, but it doesn't torque out on me or anything and tracks pretty well.

Another nice little recurve, Ryan. You've been cranking them out lately! Pat B
Very nice bow... you did an excellent job!!! "Kentucky coffee in my opinion acts a lot like Mulberry" the piece I worked seemed even harder than Mulberry, if that's possible... tough stuff Great color. Coaster500
