I think I found out why Dalton abandoned the flute.

Maybe a Mr. Clovis knapper looked at the point and knew it wouldn't flute correctly and handed it to Mr. Dalton to finish... :o

My last point is a Dalton made from NC Rhyolite. I am very happy with it, being made of from Rhyolite...

The circular positioned points have been made in the last few months. Crowfields,Clovis and Dalton made from Dacite,Tx Rootbeer,Georgetown,Novaculite and Rhyolite

Yes sir. You have really amped up your knapping.
Nice assortment. I know how tough that Rhyolite is.

Just looking at that rock makes my hands and wrists ache. Nice collection!

I have made some pretty nice Daltons, but my attempts at the Sloan have not been up to what I was trying to do. The last one has been my best attempt at the style, but there are several things wrong with it.

They look so simple but so hard to master. Final shape just gives me fits! That's a nice set, I'm kinda partial to that last one too.

That last one was made from raw Burlington. It is a beast to produce a clean pattern on, but the Native Americans did it well.

I am out of big flint.
Hardaway/ Daltons are not to big and can
be made from spalls from bigger blades.
Here's some. Mostly looking resharpened
as they are found most often.
Any takers?

Here is my best effort on a Gunther. It has a pretty good shape, but it is probably too big for the type.
