Need Mechanic advice
« on: May 01, 2012, 09:57:12 pm »
While changing the oil on my truck in preperation for the drive to the Classic, I noticed that both my sway bar links are busted on the front end.  I took them off and the sway bar is just hanging there.  It is a 2005 Dodge Dakota 2wd.  Will it be OK to drive it to the Classic?  I've been driving like that for a while apparently.

the bushings should be fairly cheap... you might need them when a 18 wheeler passes you @70mph

Fix it. I did a white knuckle drive to Nashville in my younger days in a wore out Chevy Blazer with 33" Mudders.

just replaced mine last week, cost $130 and about 1 hour. Driving with out it will not do the rest of your front end any good.

Looks like I won't be able to fix it before I head down.  Out of two auto parts stores, I could only find one link.
