i rescued this old hatchet  head from an antique store today for $3 (there was a couple more think i'll go back and get) . so when i got home today i sharpened and made a handle for it , the handle is post oak salvaged from a stave that checked real bad.
i really like these old hatchets ,does anyone else use them or restore them ?  if so post some pics i would like to see.

Is this the one you were speaking of? Nice hatchet !!! Good job on the handle as well  ;D

this is the recent one i used the handle from the other and it is way better balanced. i am using the other as a wedge until i can make a new handle for it.
