Goose feathers
« on: April 20, 2012, 01:17:24 pm »
I am looking to get my hands on a bunch (100-300) of goose fletchings - anyone know a good source?  I seem to recall reading about someone who sells them, but for the life of me I cant remember where.

I'm heading to the lake today to see if they have started molting yet.  I'll never find that many though.  Good luck, dp

They have not yet started to molt by me yet - another month or two - but I need them sooner and - like you say, I doubt I would get that many at my local lake anyway.

It is early for molt. The only advice I have is to contact local water fowlers and see if they will save the wings on birds they harvest for you. I have been doing this along with ones I harvest. Good source of fletching.
