New Pit and results (several pics {sorry dial up folks])

Spent some time this morning getting started building my knapping pit. It is in the back of my property and faces west. Under a spreading hackberry.
It went fairly quick so I thought I would give it a try.

Looks very cool! Now you need a rock run to decorate it a little.

The waste chips were not thrown away, Bevan. I saw the guys put them into a pile at the edge of camp. Guess they read your mind. Nice pit, by the way!

As I recall, the chips went right through the tarp we were knapping on...twice. They're still there, will still be there in a couple months if you still want them.

Thanks for the appology. I walked out to the barn for a last beer, relieved myself on the way, got back to the computator and had the pit pics, but only half a blades pic loaded. You've come a long way quick w/ the knappin Bevan. Pit looks like it ought to hold the rock in too. Someday I may post a pic of my hillbilly pit.
sweet work, what I saw of it.

Thanks George, maybe instead, we make some new one.
Still have to get a cover for the pit. I have learned my lesson about knapping in the hot sun.

Oooh, I just remembered how much is on my tarp in the shop. You might be right, we can add to that and send you home with some nice flakes.

Nice pit man! Good luck keeping all that debitage in there over time. I like knapping in the sun, helps me see all the humps and bumps. Maybe when the new eyes come in it won't be such a deal..
