I love those things, they are a great break from hinging bows
Could you do a close up of your tips, when I read that they were duplex I did a double take and then switched back and forth from the pics to the text, I coulda sworn that those were glue on's WOW
Please show us your trick

When people ask "why didn't you do that the first time" you can be sure that they  have never made a bow before.

They are duplex nails.  I used some old JB weld that I've had since 1998.  I just smeared it on the tip of the nail in a big blob.  When it dried I sanded them to a point on my little belt sander.  Then I colored them black with a sharpie.  I don't know how well the JB will hold up once I shoot them for a while.  If it breaks or falls off, I will still have the duplex points.  I'll get a close up of it tomorrow.

Here is a closer picture of the point.  Also in the photo is the glue I used for the fletching and some tiny files that I used to shape the nocks.  I liked using the files a lot better than sandpaper.  I could get a real precise shape with them.

My wife loves for me to straighten my arrows!  So here is the secret, use a scented candle that she likes to smell  ;).  Works every time!
