Well I havent posted any pics lately but its not cause I slowed my knappin down...
My computer was just taking a few days off of service. I just wish it would have given me a few days notice..
anyway, Ive made a few keepers from my variety bucket of rocks. The first one I wanted to share is my favorite so far and my largest. Its from some material found in north central KY called Muldraugh. Its similar to TN creek chert in color and consistency, tough but knaps well. Its 4 3/8"L x 2 3/8"W with 1 1/4" deep notches. Heres a few pics. Enjoy

Heck, if you can't do any better than that you need to chunk it! My way that is. You are astounding.

Really like how you laid out the chips from notching- it clicked for me on how the notches are done. Really great point Will!

Thanks Don! you are 2 kind fella
Bob, Ill show you how I do it. Its alot easier than you would think. As long as you keep your platform below center they dont break. The tricky part is keeping your flakes the same size and moving the platform to favor a ceartin face.
THanks Tracy, Im glad the flakes helped it click for ya. Thats the reason I love sharing pics here on PA. I think it amazing how the sharing of info online helps us all get a little better. Stone age meets the computer age. What would out ancestors say f they sould see us now!
