three from last night.
« on: February 17, 2012, 01:03:45 pm »
Got home from work and lit the kero heater in the barn and did some knappin.  Got these three done in a couple of hours.  I broke two, but kept @ it.  Not pretty, but OK.  I'm happy w/ em.
The first on is cortex I think, but it's sharp. 88grains. the second is a local material the old indian guy @ the museum gave me, coocky notches, was longer too, 134 grain, and the whitish one I found the material in the pit and had a hit, 128 grain.  Thanks for looking. dpgratz

I like Them Derik! Looks like your making progress in short time. Center one looks like hornstone. Let me know when you need some more hornstone pieces and I'll gather up some out of the pit or we'lltake a little road trip :) Hey, Ive got a DVD by Mark Bracken that you can borrow that is full of good stuff too.

Take care man

Lookin good. Keep makin points. That's the best way I know to improve. If I was having the same problem with every point I made I would think of what I was doing that could cause it. I would think of other ways to approach it. Eventually I fix the problems.  It also taught me numerous way to attack differant problems in the stone. That's the best advice I can give. Your makin good points! Keep it up.
