I started in the Army right after highschool, did 13 years, and found a better gig with Irving PD. Finished my army careers by retiring in the Reserves after 23 years.

I was an aircraft mech in the Navy, and as a civilian now, still work on jets, just not as cool as it used to be...

Them pilots jockeying the jets you fix ever seen your ugly ash Whoopin' Sticks?  Of course not, or they'd take up driving a bus!  With this nice weather, I just gotta bust out and go shoot that thing in the woods.  Anything that broke down ugly has gotta shoot like a laser!  Still in awe of someone making a bow for me with just a knife!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

You know JW, I left that bow au natural so you could put whatever finish you want on it. I really figured ya had so many nice bows as it is, maybe you could do with a plain jane that you didnt mind taking out and using her for all she is worth. Figured you would dress that ol gal up to your liking. Course, some gals, it doesnt mater how many clothes you put on, they are still ugly.... otherthan that, how many folks have a bow that can cut down a tree?

I grew up a commercial fisherman, now I'm a student and do odd jobs and camps for my Tribe.  I think it's awesome that this thread is here and that it shows people who are the salt of the earth(rolling stones style) are into the earth and the ways of the old ones.  I learned how to make bows from reading this forum for the last 8 years, and I'm always learning.  Thanks to our Vets, my Dad was a Vietnam Vet.  I've wondered what y'all do...now I know!  I like it, and thank you all :)

I am currently an optician/eyeglass/contacts sales person (in training, have had the job for a month and love it!),

My favorite part of my job is dispensing glasses to kids for their first time. They'll often say,

"I can see the leaves on the trees!" Priceless, just how i felt when i first wore glasses. I then show them that the trees are sweetgum, longneedle pine, live oak and water oak, and southern magnolia :) always loved trees.
