Hey, all.  Here's a bamboo-backed-bamboo deflex/reflex bow I just finished out from a blank I got from James Parker of Huntworty Productions.  You can purchase James' blanks through Mike Yancey at Pine Hollow Long Bows (a sponsor here).

I finished this one up rather quickly for my cousin, as deer seasons is approaching very quickly.  We were running out of daylight the evening I delivered it, hence no full-draw shot    :-\

It's 64" inches tip-to-tip and came in at 53#@28".  From back it front, it's bamboo/osage/ipe/walnut riser/osage/heat tempered bamboo.  It shoots like a rocket and is whisper quiet.  The riser has been stippled and then ebonized using the vinegar etching solution I use on my knives. It's a really cool process that, depending on the length and repetition of applications, can turn wood black.  You can make the solution yourself by soaking a piece of steel wool in vinegar for a few days, then straining the vinegar and applying it with a soft rag much like stain.  A little blast from a heat gun speeds up the drying and darkening process.

awesome looking bow!  What will that solution do to osage?  I've put black die or stain on it several times and get the green effect.
