My 1st Bow
« on: August 22, 2011, 10:16:11 pm »
I just finished my 1st bow today. It's made form a piece of ash I "inherited" along with a bunch of hickory & osage.

The bow is 68" long, 45# @ 28" and sold. I showed it to a friend of mine and he bought it. :/
Here's the only pictures I took of it today before it was sold:

Here's the 1st 3 shots I took with it. Shot from 10 paces using viburnum arrows I made.

Don't mention the 'S' word :o... It is frowned upon by those who must be obeyed.
I like the Muskrat and Holland signature  :).

I didn't have any intention of parting with the bow. It just happened.
Muskrat & Holland is a name the fellow who now owns this bow & I use on whatever we make. He always asks me which one I am. I tell him I'm the one he's not.

Nice work and what a wonderful feeling of accomplishment you must have!  The really neat thing is, every bow from here on will give you that same feeling of satisfaction; each has it's own set of unique challenges and character...I believe that's one of the reasons this craft is so addictive...

Nice bow.  Good work.  If that's your first....wow.  Your 2nd 3rd and 4th are going to be amazing...  Good job!
