Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Just got back from the hospital, and Mom made it through the surgery in good shape so far. She had three major bypasses, pretty rough day for a nearly eighty-year old woman with a whole list of medical problems besides the heart trouble, but she's a really tough lady. I've been amazed by her attitude through the whole ordeal. She was awake and rational this afternoon, and still had her sense of humor. She's not completely out of the woods yet, but the hardest part is hopefully behind her, and the doctors seem optimistic. I feel like she's in good hands, and will probably actually sleep tonight for the first time in several days. To top it all off, my sister's little 1 1/2 -year-old granddaughter who has us all wrapped around her finger was rushed to the emergency room yesterday afternoon with pneumonia, but she's also doing much better this afternoon.
