Magyar Horn Composite
« on: June 24, 2011, 09:29:59 pm »
Here is a Magyar Hungarian style horn composite that i've been working on for some time now.  i just finished it up today.  Specs are: 51" from tip to tip, 49" from groove to groove, 65# at 30".  It has a maple core, handle, and siyahs.  Elk leg sinew, sturgeon fish bladder glue, velum lamb leather cover, painted dark brown with gold hungarian floral motifs at mid-limb.  Has a Hungarian stag at the upper limb, a snow leopard on the lower limb.  Has a turul falcon on the top and bottom of the belly at the siyahs.

I especially wanna see details of the falcon....and the money shot, FULL DRAW!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

"Oh! He's such a tease!"

Thats what I'm saying! This is one I've been waitin ta see, looking nice!
"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-
the upper part is pressed down,
the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."

Excellent work, James!  I'm amazed at both the bow and the patience/skill it took to produce it.  Looking forward to some more pictures. :)

Another nice one Robustus. How many man hours do you put into a piece like that? Do you think that you will be doing a build along sometime? I for one would be interested in the process.

James what a great bow.  I love the Magyars throw a heavy hunting hunting arrow with authority.
