rhyolite and jasper
« on: June 28, 2011, 07:32:08 pm »
green rhyolite is definitely butter compared to the morrow mountain stuff i worked. been planning on doing a susquehanna and this piece was perfect for it. small ones are mook and a piece of penn jasper. all raw. same technique i always use. hammerstone, horizontal punch, tine , ulna.

thank you. the yellow in the mook definitely leaves hang nails easier than the rest of it. probably work better if i heat it. bob i love that penn jasper. one of these days i wanna heat it so it brings out the red. i also have two pieces that have blues in em. saving that stuff for a rainy day. =)

Those are awesome as always Jamie! And i'd like to attack a small part of that hill with a jack hammer. Well, maybe a small chisel and hand held hammer ::).
