how long should it take dogwood to cure after being split and bark peeled off and ends and back sealed is it like hickory abotu a month or better or like osage at least 6 months to a year? i know usually older the better but just wanting to know when i can expect to work the stave and get them ready

It depends on how thick it is and what type of environment the wood seasons in. For faster results take a stave and rough it down all the way thru floor tiller. You can usually bend wet wood almost 8" before it'll take any set. That way your wood is at its thinnest possible and will dry out in a month easy if left in the right environment.

But generally speaking the rule is a year per inch of thickness.
