Two New Neck Knives
« on: May 25, 2011, 11:07:51 am »
Here's a couple I just finished.  The first is a ringed bird and trout made from a worn out Nicholson file.  It's 6.5" oal with a 3.5" blade.  The second is little "toothpick necker" out of saw steel and zebra wood.  It's 3.5" oal with a 1.75" blade.  Both were double quenched and etched in a vinegar/lemon juice bath. Thanks for looking.  Critique is always welcome!

Beautiful pieces of work...  I've never much liked bird & trout knives but I LOVE the design of your one - the twisted grip and the long, slender blade.

Beautiful!

What's the cord on the saw-blade sheath made from?  Looks almost sinewy in appearance but I'm guessing it's just old/aged thread of some sort?

Thanks, everybody :) .  I appreciate the kind words.  Hatch: the twisted cord is hand laid from some fine linen thread that has been dyed green.
