Made myself a backquiver
« on: May 11, 2011, 05:26:04 pm »
While waiting for my staves to dry up a bit more i made myself a quiver,i dont have any measurements or patterns i just played with the materialls until it felt right.
Havent decided how i gonna close the flap on the pocket yet.The leather and the strap i bought on netauktion cheap, the strap is actually a wide belt and the fur is from a exgirlfriens fakefur hat she left behind.
Its all by hand and gosh did my fingers hurt when i was done! ;D Btw that braided strap is brilliant, its supple but grips the clothes like its glued to it.

Cool I like.
If we can't help each other what is the point of being here?

Nice work Mikael.    For a closure you can make a button or medallion(1" or less) out of antler or wood and attach it to the flap. Bring a braided string(or piece of lacing) up from the bottom of the pocket to wrap around the button to hold the flap down.

Thanks guys!
There are some small adjustments to do,but overall im happy with it.I have some woodenshafts incoming soon as these are to stiff for my birchbow.
@Pat B  That would look good i think,or perhaps a small tine and a braided loop..
I had was fun making it,ill just hope my ex dont want her hat back  ::)
