Hi,  I've been using nothing but duplex nails for points on my 3D arrows, for about a year now.   I think they work great.  I do wrap the cane/ bamboo with thread before drilling and placing the nail.  I glue the nails in with crazy glue and soak the thread at the same time.  The nails and the binding hold up well to straw bales. 3D's and the occasional   (well OK fairly frequent) miss. The nails shape easily with a belt sander and can be cut to adjust weight.    Ron
