Will bamboo flooring make arrow shafts?

I've heard that it is very heavy for it's spine, as it gets it's weight from the strong fibers near the surface, or bark, or whatever.

I would think that violating all the nodes like that would cause a problem.  If you want cane arrows, I would post a trade over on the Trading Post, and have some of these guys with a plethora of cane send you some.  Justin

I have some bamboo boarding in my loft. I notice that the glue joint has failed in places with it just sitting there. I wonder if the glue bond holding the bamboo bits together would be good enough in an arrow with all the shock, bending and possible damp. Only way to find out would be to make some though.
If you can get basic Jap Arrow bamboo this would be better, lighter, tougher and stronger IMHO.

it works though the spine is a bit light for the size and the durability is comparable to cedar
