Thats what I was kind of what I was hoping for lol. Do people trade alot at classics and if so what would be good things to bring to trade or would that be a bad idea?

If every tribe of Indians got to gather to trade 700 years ago it would look a lot like the TN Classic :)
bring what you got, I'm telling you, you can find flint were you live you just got to look. Right now is the best time to get out and look in the fields before they plant. And the rock you ill find, Sonora, KY Blue, Hornstone ext.... if good trade item.
Deer horns, River cain, Wood for bows and anything else, sinew dude the list go's on and on :)

Wow I can get tons of river cane, a little sinew, maybe rawhide, antlers, maybe Ky agates don't know if knappers use them, maybe some bow wood. I just need to find pictures of the rocks I need to hunt for and hopefully that will give me a good start anyways.

No idea...
Your in the right spot. Mammoth cave has huge balls of hornstone in the roof of one cave. Cant touch those but lets you know its in the area.
Take a road trip, go north east and drive the back roads and look for those flint balls in the fields. Stop and poke around in the creeks, Im sure your find flint.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Your best bet is to go North east or north.

Never seen a KY agate. But were you live i would not be surprised if you walked out side right now and tripped over a big flint ball.

I might bring one to the classic for you to see. I  guess I'll have to go out this weekend and look around for some flint this weekend if the weather is willing which I doubt.

Dhl, get your self down to Jamie's pronto!!!  I would take some Agates to the classic also.  But by all means, get down to Leapingbare's place, and start asking, watching, and doing!  You just got an offer most of us would almost kill for. :o  ......ok, well maybe not almost  ::).......but do by all means get down there. Oh, and take beer. ;)  Just beer.  Don't take food!  You'd be better off paying for lessons, it would be a lot cheaper.  You don't even want to try to feed that boy! ;D ;D Even if you have to crank up your hush puppies, and hoof it, get down there.  ;D  Believe me, you will be light years ahead in the game of knapping! ;)  And get out in the field, and streams.  If you do well in locating rock, bring some of that to the classic also.  Got any feathers?  Bring em.  Take a video camera if you have one, or a regular camera, and a note pad.  You will be on overload with info.  But in all seriousness, get down to Jamies as soon as you can, and it is convient with him.   ........Lucky Bas....!   ::)

I would love to go down there but I have limited gas money so I thought I would see him at the classic. It would be great to go to his place but being in school kind of have to ration my money so to speak. Thank you for the offer though Jesse I would come down if gas wasn't a problem...

Dlh, I typed, Jamie, should have been Jesse.  ::)  Being old and decrepit, I am easily confused. ;D ;D
I can relate to the lack of funds. ;)  Forget the beer. ;)  Just bring rock, and whatever else you can drag along, that someone might be interested in.   Sorry about that Jessie.  Oh, and sorry about that Jamie..... ::)
