hick backed ipe/hick split
« on: January 16, 2011, 04:25:18 am »
I started this bow as a molg style bow but i didnt want to ruin yet another piece of ipe so i played it safe with this bow. its 69" long 2.5 inches wide it is hickory backed with 3 squares on the belly, hickory on either side of an ipe strip. its 60# @ 28 and very smooth draw. i dont think it qualifies as a molg but its a bow  ;D. anyway here is how i glued the woods together as a cut away

and here are the actual photos

as always any critiques or criticism is always welcome.

Thank you,
Dustin D.

Dustin,
Very nice bow!! That full draw pic is a classic Mollegabet bend profile, it ought to be very smooth and have good cast as well. Well done, sir.

Very Cool Bow!  I must've missed it when you posted it somehow...  ???   Bookmarked for January BOM contest.
