Yup, another great one Jawge.
Those pics will help a few more guys with their tillering and help to save a few more bent and split staves. ;D

Thanks, osage outlaw. They are with the grain and DCM and I think they are wind shakes. You can imagine my surprise as I reduced the belly on this stave. Considering a problem here and there, this bow came together fairly quickly to full. Took about 11 hours. These character staves can surprise or they can rapidly become tomato takes. LOL. Thanks, Del. That's my aim. :) Jawge

great job on that stave!
If you had short longitudinal cracks on the back, but an otherwise wide clean ring, would you have been able to try just superglue or would you have had to back it with something? I have one that I have re-chased 3 times and little 1-2inch cracks show up in different spots when each new ring is chased.

Thanks, George. Thanks, keenan, I hope this buildalong will be used. Thanks, elk. I never did. LOL. The design got narrower when I saw those cracks. It was a fluid design. Thanks, hammertime. Osage is an excellent bow wood. Thanks, Pappy. Tjat I got a bow from this wood is a tribute to the quality of osage as a bow wood. Postman, I rarely worry about cracks that run north to south on the stave. Super glue goes a long way to fixing these. Show some pictures of your stave so we can help you. Jawge

That is a mighty fine looking bow, George. It sure looked like a challengeing piece of wood. Great to see you making wood chips and the Tiller looks dead on.

Very nice buildalong and bow!

Is super glue best for fixing those kind of cracks?

Thanks, Mullet. Glad you like it. Thanks, Tbod. Yes, I think super glue does the job well. The runny kind runs right in. Jawge
