Hazel takedown
« on: January 20, 2011, 10:27:21 am »
Hi

Tried to make a 3p takedown with only wood and glue. Was inspired by a similar bow on another forum.
Made two sets of limbs,  66" 35# the other 70" 40#
Speedy assembly (5 seconds).

Neat!  Looks like it would probably shoot alright.  How loud is it?  If I tried something like that I would either blow out the back of that riser or I'd have it so loose that it would rattle when shot.  How's it working?

Thanks!

I've only shot with the longer sets of limbs, it works fine. Like a normal bow. But I'm no good archer and I am out of shape shooting wise since this cold winter.

Very Cool entry for January BOM contest!!! I think it is awesome you can change the limbs out and the tiller looks pretty good also.

TBod can you give a little explantion how the limbs attach? do they just slide into the riser? hope it works out and lives.
if your not dead you are getting older so get out and shoot some arrows.

Yes, they slide in and then the safety pin keeps it in place. It's important to get god a fit. The end of the limbs that goes in to the riser taper a little in width and more in thickness.
