Made a tree out of a tree

A tillering tree that is . I use a stick to get to brace, then a scale for "No Set Tillering". Anyway, been messing with glass while hickory dries and wanted to stress one to see how durable this design they really is. Needed a tillering tree. So I used a tree. It worked, got that heavy draw, sloppily built hybrid out to 34" no issue. I'd have taken a pic but it must have been pulling well over 80# at 34". Not sure I could hold that one handed

 I dont think that bow looked sloppily built.----------34" draw?------------ I would say thats pretty darn good.

Thanks guys. It was fun getting to watch the limbs bend like that for the first time. So used to the tillering stick!

Jesse- this is hybrid #2. The lams were full of tear outs, the solid oak riser has worm holes, and somehow one side of the limbs is deeper than the other side! It originally pulled 70# @ 28", after retillering it was 64# at 28". I figured if this one survived overdrawing, with all the mistakes  and the heavy draw, then we'd have hunt-worthy bows on our hands

Now if only I can make one with a selfbow-like grip
