log bed for my log cabin
« on: August 23, 2010, 11:21:23 pm »
I wanted to share my log bed i made for my future log cabin.  its  not quite finished but all the pieces are there. I still have to do the finish work on it and seal it up but i want to let it dry out just a bit more before its finished.  I have been thinking,  between bows and knapping i just might offer my cabin building and log furniture building services to some of the locals next summer//once mine is done of course.  i figure its not too shabby for my first..just like anything else, get a few under your belt and  they will get sweeter.

I'm with Ken if my wife sees that I'm in trouble. Great work. Ron
If we can't help each other what is the point of being here?

wow that looks great! really professional looking.

how did you secure the headboard / foot board to the rails? Just with the drilled holes or do you have a locking mechanism of some sort?

again Looks great

thanks much guys.
Wade, I use the drilled holes with tight pegs and then use 4 inch lag screws to draw them in solid and a couple 3" decking screws buried deep so you cant see them
