Hand split ash with knapped head!
« on: August 12, 2010, 07:26:08 pm »
Hi guys wanted to share with you something that I made for a fellow coworker for giving me a few things used for flintknapping... I asked him what he wanted in return he said make me an arrow with a an stone arrow head.  I said u got it.  So I made him a hand split arrow from ash, knapped a local styled head from Esopus flint that I quarried and hafted with sinew.  Yhe arrow knock was sawed in by a stone blade made from Normanskill, turkey feathers from last years bird also...I only make what I need and dont make too many that often but this was sure fun and almost regret giving it away!!!  Thanks for looking!

Very nice arrow. What's the possibility of doing a build-along on making hardwood arrow shafts by hand?  ;D
