Thanks guys,he will love to hear yall liked it. JW I really didn't notice much differences other than the grain looks a little strange when you are scraping it. The back when you flatten it is kind of like I would think a board bow would look like[Never made a board bow so I am guesing] As long as the grain don't run off the edge it should be fine. These were backed with a couple of layers of sinew but I don't believe it is necessary. The advantage is you can use a small diameter tree and split it down the middle,most small trees ,by the time you get the sap wood off there isn't enough heart wood to make a bow,alto PatB and a good friend of mine Sonny Idmam from Ohio[now passed]
have made some using the sap wood. It is just another way to use what you have.A lot of small Osage seem to be really dense and clean so you hate to pass that up. Buckeye Guy I will tell him you said Ha,I will be meeting him in Elm Hall MI. next weekend at a shoot they are having.
