CP, no the back is not flat, it slightly crowned. This stave was from a log that was about 8" diameter.

Mark, I was thinking about making another anyway and saving this one for a backup so maybe I'll do that.

Sorry I missed this one, I was on a bit of a hiatus.  That's a beauty, that tiller looks superb.  I've been fideling around with starting to try making strings myself.  I've been disassembling machine spun hemp cord and seperating the fibers and putting them away, I'm thinking I'll put together a drop spindle, like shown in the strings section in the TBB2, I believe...
Anyhow, you did an awesome job, very nicely done, I like you you used the berries for some staining also.

Yeah that is sweet looking I haven't found to many photos of a black locust D bow with all the angles. I'm a bit like Parnell have to take a break from here now and then or I don't get anything else done. It also makes for exciting reading when everything you see is new.
