Thanks guys for the nice compliments!
Pat, I can't wait to try your method. I could have gotten two bows out of this one but was afraid to risk the split. Makes total sense with no more sapwood that's on a sapling anyway and the drying technique is an excellent idea. Thanks again.

Remind me to smack you up side the head when I see you Sunday for winding about how you just wasn't satisfied with how this bow was working out. That's a dang fine bow anyone (in there right mind, haha) would be happy to carry into the woods. Let's shoot AT some squirrels this spring season June 5-18.
I'll bring you some osage Sunday. Maybe you can destroy them as well as you did this stick. Great job, my friend! BTW the way, this might move ahead of Crazy Horse as my fav. I'll just need to shoot it to be sure.
Oh, and WOW!!!!!

Thanks again guys for the nice comments:
Dave, I won't comment about comparison to the bow that you are talking about, knowing that Hickory could never compare to Osage in this neck of the woods
Whiner
well maybe a little
Shooting
"at"
squirrels is about all that's going to happen with my accuracy level but it still sounds fun and you are on for a hunting trip.

Very, very nice. That is the D bow that I want to make, about that length out of Osage. Yours looks great, I hope it brings you luck!

All joking aside, GMC, very nice looking bow. When I started this journey, that's the bow I wanted to build. And, I have a piece of osage ready when I am. But, as you know I have a few more projects I want to complete, first.

Thanks Wade, Parnell and Dave for the nice comments.
Scott, the bow is a little shorter than I had planned at the start. The sapling split 6'' back on one end as it dried, so it did end up smaller than I originally wanted it to be. You never really know what you will end up with on a stave and this was my first using a sapling. I see a few more of these in my future. Thanks for the nice comment.
I missed posting a picture of the flat profile of this bow so I will add that to this post for anybody interested.

Had to come back and look at this one again. That's just durn near a perfect little bow, and I love the looks of that red-streaked osage.
