Red Oak question
« on: April 16, 2010, 01:40:03 pm »
I've recently gotten some time to start on another red oak bow and I've got it almost completed with the floor tiller and was wondering before I move on to tillering the bow out if red oak is stronger in compression or tension and also if I heat treat the belly if that will change which is stronger. Thanks and I'll post a couple pics later in regard to what the bow looks like. Have a good one. Mike
