hey fellows here are a few pics of a the turkish horn bow after 3 layers of sinew,and the bow pulled into the last amount of reflex for this one,,im working on another like it that will be pulled into much more reflex than this one,,, the other bow pic is of a korean horn bow ,with one layer of sinew.....      james

wow, now that's some reflex!  how many pounds will these bows pull when finished?

chris the turk bow will be in the high 60 to 70s lbs and the korean will be only in  the50s

Hi James,

Just curious .........is the core made of wood? I would assume would will be one straight piece, how
do u induce the wood to bend into a circle? before putting on that sinew?

rt- the turk bow has a maple core with maple siyahs horn belly and sinew back,,the korean bow has a bamboo core osage  handle and osage siyahs,,most korean bows use  mullberry for the siyahs,, i didnt have any on hand....thanks for the intrest...............james

 rt  both bows had some reflex after gluing up the core- the rest was put in after sinewing,,the turk bows is a few pages back , showing after the first layer..more relex is added after each layer

WOW,Your sinewing is better than any I have seen so far,The crabbow looks great.Would you put up some pictures of how you process the horn?

shikari.all the horns i had on hand have already been cut and ground and glued on cores,,i do have several pairs in the maill,when i get them i show pics,,,,,thanks for the sinew remark.......... .......james
