Maple board bow, one of three, not for BOM

So I tried to make five bows this week but only ended up making three between other stuff. Its a maple board, 66" ntn 2" wide to mid limb tapering to 3/8" nocks. 50#@28". Took on about 1.5" in set. This is the only one I took pics of but the other two are exactly the same except one is 68" ntn. A few comments. For the front view profile I wanted to make the tiller more elliptical but because I started a little thin near the handle it came out very circular. This is the best finish I've put on a bow. Just 4 coats of spar urethane. I'm really happy with how it came out. Shoots well and looks very simple and clean. I've been using hard maple a lot and its really grown on me. Easy to work, looks great, and pretty straight grain in boards which is why I picked it out in the first place. I'll try and take pics of the other two when I get time. I also have one more 68" one to make so I'll have two sets of twin bows. Let me know what ya think. Thanks for looking.

The now's tiller is great. The only thing that concerns me is it looks like you cut through the back of the bow at the nock. It could break there. Jawge

It looks good! The tiller is excellent. But I'm with sulfur the fades seem a little too abrupt and could be a weak spot.

I definitely understand where you're coming from with the fades but I tried to get it so it didn't bend till the widest part of the limb. The built up handle is from the last six inches of the board which started out at 6' so I did have to keep it a little abrupt.
I didn't cut through the back of the bow at the nock but I think the string is pressing into the wood pretty hard. Didn't really feel like putting overlays on.
I do like staining my bows but I didn't want to buy new stain and the ones I have didn't do it for me. I like the creamyness of the maple but my concern is that if I hunted it would be too bright.
Thanks for the comments.

The Tiller turned out to look very nice...but them Fades are way too short...should have tapered to nothing by the Transition from Handle to Fades...not so abrupt at the ends of the Handle...also like Jawge pointed out...cutting them Nocks all the way around like that....can be a recipe for Disaster.....what little wood you did leave is not nearly enough...may as well be all the way around......good luck and I hope that you learned a bunch with these Bows...so you can use it all on the next ones that you build...and there will be many....
