Stave give-away?
« on: February 26, 2010, 11:51:40 am »
I know this site doen't promote selling stuff ...

But how does it feel about give-a-ways?  I have been pretty lucky to have procured some pretty nice bow wood this month.  And I would like to have a few give-a-ways like they sometimes do over on the leatherwall.

A little feedback is welcome from folks in the know .. and I'll proceed from there.  If it doesn't upset the good folks at Primitive Archer ... I'll be busy splitting all the staves out to see what I have.

We all love give-aways...and as long as you aren't selling PA is fine with it.

Howdy Scrub Buck,

Well, now you're just teasing us!!
What type of wood is it?  Where are you located, and how much do you have?
Count me in.

Oh, I wanted to mention that this site has a Trading Blanket area were you could perhaps trade staves for arrows, leather goods, knapped blades...?

Thanks for thinking of us,

Ok, OK ... give me a week or two to get all my stuff split and I'll take an inventory and see what I could donate.

Please chime in when I start the real give away thread.

Right now, I have Honey Locust, osage, black walnut, winged elm, dogwood and ash.

I'll start a new thread about this when the time is right on my end after the inventory.

I repeat ... please wait until the real give away thread opens before you chime in to be added to the lottery.

Thanks,

Scrub_buck

Free staves?  You're gonna be about as popular as the guy that shows up with another batch of homebrew for sampling!
