Your to humble Mr Ott, your attention to detail is beyond most, you and Gordan are quite the bowyers and inspire people to strive to that level.

Tim,  The bow looks real sweet. How hard was it to get the Ipe to bend around that curve? I'm just wondering if certain looking boards bend easier that others..

Another fine bow Tmo.

The backing is just plain sawn (or quarter?) osage, with ring violations?

I could see a plain sawn backing where you case the back ring, but just a flat backing I'm surprised it worked over ipe.

Thanks all,

JD, I just build bows and try to make them look the way I see them before I start. Putting me in the same sentence with Gordon? You make me feel beyond my capabilities. How bout  you slap some pics up of them cadillac bows you build?

Richard, With the kerfs sawn in it bent very easy.

Mims, The osage was quarter sawn. (or what I call 1/4) edge grain if you will?Actually it was from some of the slats I made last winter,I saved me some full length primo stuff just to try this out. The rings run end to end without waiver. Holding so far.

Great looking bow!  I like the wood combo and the skins too.  I bet it's fast too!  Congratulations on a job well done! :)

That is one beauty of a weapon Tim! I thought it was some kind of Star Wars bow at first glance with the OBI title ;D.

Howdy TimO,

I too am very interested in seeing some pic.s and more discussion on how you kurfed the tips.  The tips are so thin at that point, I can't imagine how you were able to put one (much less two) kurf cuts into the tips.  ???

Pictures Please!!!

Oh, BTW, I really like this beautiful bow.  As someone else had said, it inspires the rest of us. :D
Thanks for sharing,

Thanks again folks.

Canoe, I plan on doing a little picture thingy sometime on how I do my kerfs. Patience grasshopper! ;)

Pdwright, I use CA glue,(industrial super glue) I use the 25 second set,but about any will work. The hole in the limb tip is for a string keeper.
