Thanks Bob. :) Ya Pat they enjoy the dogs life around there, you are right, lots to get done but I feel sure we will get there sooner or later, at least we always have before. ;) :) We have our first open shoot Saturday March 15th, once we get through that it is all focused on 1 thing, The Classic.  :)

Heading to the cabin for a few days, got a shoot Saturday and still have a few things to get in order for that and also have a young man coming down today that wants me to help him make a knife for his grand fathers old file, he is one of the older scouts that help out at the Classic and a fine young man, that should be fun. I may even get time to get my last hide stretched and dry, the weather is supposed to be bad with rain and storms, but again who knows. :-\ :) See yall Monday, hope you have a good one also. Life is Good. ;) :)

Had a great weekend, a little wet Saturday but Thursday and Friday was nice. Had a young man come down for me to help him make a knife from his Grand Dad's old file, this boy was in the scout troop that come down to camp and help us out during the Classic, good kid so I couldn't say no. :)We went right to work on it, I got it softened and laid out, To be honest I did a lot of the work but made sure he had plenty of hands on, just kept a close eye on him. :) He was a quick learner and pretty handy with his hands. Got a lot done Thursday, it was ready to temper and heat treat by Thursday evening.  :)

We built a stand for it while it was in the oven Tempering after heat treating. Deer antler/deer leg bone at joint and barn wood from his Grand dad's old barn. Got the handle fitted and ready to glue up early Friday.  :)

The smile says it all,he was a very happy young man. :) I got my last hide of the year stretched and softened , ready to smoke, deer burgers for supper after a long couple of days. We had a open shoot Saturday, to say we got rain would be an understatement, 5 or 6 inches over the day. Very slow but who could blame anyone for not wanting to get out in that mess, we had a good day all the same catching up and shooting the bull , not our bows. ??? ;) :) :)

Lots of smiles even with the rain, reminded me of the Classic of 2010. Annie didn't mind the rain at all, if fact she loved it. ??? :) :)

That storm came through here early this morning. Only got 1.5" but very high winds. Lots of debris down. Town lost power and it may still be out. We only had a blip, only know that because the clocks were blinking.
Hope y'all are getting all the rain out before the Classic but a little then would feel like normal.
Will's looking a little fuzzy these days.

Ya we got Blessed again, we had some wind but not nearly what they said we would have, lots of rain but everything stayed in it's banks, lot worse North and South of us, it kind of split up as it came our way. :)

Thanks BJ, he was a very happy young man  :) don't think I will have to worry about ice any more this year, but who knows with this weather. :-\ I do need to clean it for the spring, pretty big job getting all the fish out and kept safe while I work on the tank but hope to get that done in the next week or so. I am in the Classic mode now trying to get the long list of little things taken care of over the next few weeks, the big stuff, some the guys help out but the little things they seem to forget about or think not important, so I try to make a list and take care of those myself , that is what will make it all run smooth. ;) :)

Very productive weekend, got a lot of little things and big things marked off my list. Got the wood cut for the year, still have some left down but if we don't cut anymore we got plenty, also freezers full of bagged ice,200 bags to get us started and the lights and plugs in the new Pavilion, had 7 or 8 guys that worked hard , very good bunch of guys I run with. :) :) Decide to smoke 1 more hide in between chores, the new smoker is working out pretty good. GregB showed up, he is always making something, this time it is flutes, sound very good. I gave him some more Boo so he can play with making some different sizes with different tones.  :)
