Chuck and Josh shooting there bows, the wrap held up good on Josh's bow as I thought it would, he is fairly new at this but I told him no worries you see a lot of self bows with a wrap here and there.
Sister and Annie just trying to stay cool.

Then back to arrows for me, got 2 dozen ready, and the dozen bare shafted and ready for finish and feathers, now for the heads, I usually use Ace 160 but had some heads someone gifted me along with some judo's but only weighed a little over 100 grains so I added some old tapered wood adapters which brought them up to a little 160, Prefect.
I have had these things for 30 plus years but never used them, now I have.

Had a great 4th now headed to the cabin for the weekend, nothing much going on in the shop but plan on spending the weekend shooting my new Osage and a couple of old ones, and maybe a couple of hikes also, foot is almost 100% now so getting back to work getting ready for CO. in the fall, not sure what else I will get into but pretty sure I will find something.
Hope yall have a good one. Life is Good.

Great weekend, got a few things done in the shop and shot my new bow a bunch, I think it will be my go to bow this fall. Now I have enough arrows through it I feel good about going ahead with the finish work. Started the weekend finishing up a walking stick for Miss Joanie Also known as Nana by the grand kids, she loved it. Also got the shafts for my new bow fletched with wild turkey feathers and ready for tips and knocks. They all came in at 510 grains +- 2 and spine with in 2 lbs, they shoot like darts and I am loving them.

Helped Mark take the belly split off a Hackberry stave, came off just like it was supposed to, he got the bow laid out and I cut it out for him, he is now ready to start tillering, very clean and straight with beautiful grain. Don brought his new pup over and Annie and his hit it off really good. They kept getting in my fish tank
so I got them their own to play in, and play it they did on and off all day.

Annie in her favorite spot, under my feet
I took a 2 mile hike with my big pack and foot seemed to do fine , found this old horse shoe in one of the water ways on the trail, not sure how old it is but for sure has been around a while so it's going on the wall of my work shop. Chuck showed up to work on a nice Yew billet , it is about 20+ years old and as tight ringed as I have seen, pretty clean for yew also.

The billets are a little thin but after looking at the lay out I think we can make the splice work, we will see
Like I said the girls are getting along great and loving their new pool and so far stayed out of my fish pond at least for now. Sister is loving the new friend also, it gives her a break from Annie.
Don only lives a mile away and is over all the time so this should work out very good.

Pappy, looks like you are ready for Colorado. When do you and Beau leave? I think Annie fits right in. Can't wait to meet her next spring.
