Nice bow Jawge.  I really like the way you finished the bow.  It really enhances the color of the wood.  You are an inspiration to many of us on this site and it is always a treat when you post the bows you have made.  I am sure your dad would appreciate the bow, and be honored that you named it after him. Thanks for all of the encouragement and advice you have given me and others as well.

Tell, thanks for the kind words and I am glad you like the bow. Osage is a pretty wood. I put the rough tools down and go to the scraper early on so there aren't many nicks. They are removed with a knife used as a scraper. The 100 grit and 220 grit sanding is done. Then I shoot it 2-3 dozen times and check tiller. I come back in dampen a paper towel and run it over the bow followed by more sanding with 220 grit after it dries. I repeat until the water does not raise the grain anymore. Then I sand 400 and 600 grit. Checking the bow in the sun helps show nicks or a good light source. Then the bow got 3 coats of Tru Oil to fill the pores especially on the belly. Then 3 coats of spar urethane  spray to waterproof it for rainy and snow days like this. Jawge

Nice one, Jawge! Looks like you handled that whoop-te-do just fine. It never occurred to me that a character stave would have a different full draw profile from either side but it does make sense. I've got some hackberry that could be classified as having "character". I'll have to remember to post both side photos when I get one made up. Always a pleasure to see your bows. Reminds us newbies why you're one of the masters.
