Yes billy, i have run into the same problems a few times. i did that one this point, it was a little longer but i knocked off half a inch and tyred again.

That looks great, Jesse. What few of those I've made, I usually wind up popping an ear off one side just when it's almost finished.

I love cabbing Brazilian agate. It's super hard and
you can do about whatever you want with it.
I'd have to hold on to that one until I finished another one like it,
and I, for one, would sure like to see it. ;D
I've got a bunch of that material, rough nodules or slabs, so give me a shout
if you need any. It's hard to imagine spalling one of those nodules,( I've never tried),
so I'm guessing you started with a slab.

 You're right, Joe. That is some hard rock, but it is like butter when it's heat treated.
