Red cedar bow?

 ??? Hello folks,, I was wondering if you ever worked a cedar stave that had some waves in the way it grew. I would assume you would follow the growth rings.

You either have to follow the ring or back it, if you violate a ring.  For cedar, you might want to back it regardless.

The ones I made from wavy cedar, I just shaped the back how I wanted and then backed it with rawhide. I usually always take some of the sap wood off anyways.
