I'm finally home for the weekend so right when I got home I clamped this bow straight to a board and heat treated it. It now draws around 60#@28" believe it or not. I'm drawing it to about 31" in this pic. It shoots way better even though it has quite a bit of string follow. Weight will probably come down after sanding but I'll try and reduce mass from the tips to try and keep performance up. I'm starting to really like this bow.

Blimey, that's a good advert for the properties of Hickory (and your skill as a bowyer).

(Re:- Use of 'blimey'
Many years ago when my kids were small we were visiting a country house/stately home or somesuch, it was late summer and they were burning the stubble off one of the fields. My two kids ran over, jumped up onto the gate and my little girl said "Gaw' blimey"
There was an American couple, (obviously on holiday) standing nearby, the woman turned to the man and said 'They really do say it!'
It made my wife and I smile, I felt like putting on my best Cockey accent and saying something like 'Gawd bless ya Mary Poppins'.)

First of all that bow is really cool. I'd have never thought you could get that much flex outta just wood. How well do you think it will hold up over time? I gotta buddy who has been wanting me to build one like that.

Thanks guys.
Hickoryswitch - Although the limbs are under a lot of strain it looks as though there are no defects that would cause it to fail. The only thing I could think of would be a really low moisture content but seeing as how this is hickory I don't think that will be a problem. Hopefully it will hold up pretty well.

I'm curious, the way hickory behaves, how about an unbraced photo after it is pulled to 31"?
