Fist tanning job..
« on: January 01, 2012, 10:39:12 am »
I was given four stretched, scraped and dried muskrat pelts. I seen about 250-300 string silencers in a sack! I bought a bottle of "Tannit" tanning solution. It was easy to prep and apply to the skins. Im excited to see how it turns out after I rasp the skin side. They would make some FINE mittens if a guy needed some primitive mits. I will post some, pics when and if it turns out.

One of the hides is yours Matt. You tell me how it works pal! They have been drying for a day and all looks good so far.
