one for the case
« on: October 17, 2009, 10:03:15 pm »
well when i woke up this morning and was just laying there in bed,i got to thinking about some gold stone that i have been saving.
so i thought i would get up,have my morning coffee, and start whacking some gold stone.
i dont know how many of you have ever used this stuff.but it comes in green and blue and kind of and orange or even brown some times
well i had a piece that was more brown than orange.so i cut the slab into smaller pieces for points.
i started with a little percussion on it and once i had the shape, then i started pressure flaking away.
as i was working it i noticed that it was getting translucent.which i have never seen before with this stuff.
well i continued to finish the point( i think it would be called a "northern" not real sure )
but its a style that seems to come easy for me.
when i got the point finished and held it up to the light.well i couldnt believe something this brown would be so translucent "green".
yup its kinda wierd. "BROWN GOLDSTONE,thats translucent GREEN"
since the point turned out kind nice i am going to put it in my keeper case.
heres some pics for ya'll

it does look better now,as i picked all the left over little boogers off of it
thanks for looking                                                                                    peace,
                                                                                                                  tim

nice job sailordad maybe u can get a side view shot of it would look nice as well also if u have a stand with a hole drilled through it and put a light shining through the light so it radiates through the piece being its translucent I think it would make a smashing pic and reveil tons of detail... Thanks for posting a job well done!!!

Cool Tim - nice point! I bought some goldstone once and looks like glitter gold - the X liked the point I made her out of it.
