I love ash, Don. You sure you want this to just gather dust with the guy you are making it for? Decorative wall hangers are kind of sad to me....like lost potential.

Beautiful bow Don,ash is some mighty pretty wood,I have made some nice bow from ash but like Pat I have also had my share of trouble with it.Yours looks like a good one.Nice job. :)

That's a nice one-bookmark it for BOM. :) Ash gets a bad rap sometimes, but I've always had really good luck with white ash, never had any trouble at all with it besides it seems to take a bit more set than yaller wood. Some of the best, most stable shooters I've made over the years have been ash of a similar design to that one. Good job on the detail work, also-all-around good looking bow.

Good job.  I have an ash stave right now myself and am taking notes on this bow.  Is it 2" straight taper to 5/8" or did you keep it 2" to midlimb?

Nice bow Don, and great finish work on it! I only have made a couple of bows from ash and was disappointed in their performance, but that was early in my bow making...might should give it another try.  :)

Ohh, that one's pretty.  I agree, that's too nice to just have hanging on a wall.  Don't you have an old cracked or chysalled bow you could give him to hang?   ;)
