that thing is just plain mean looking,i like it >:D

you thinking on the hunting technique i believe would also be the correct way to use it.
i have seen shows on the discovery chanel about neanderthal man,his spear type weapons were similar.
they figured that the ambush/thrust style of use would have been best.you stay well hidden and the spear teh yfigured would have
been to heavy to have been efficiantly used as a throwing type weapon,not to mention that type of spear would have been more suited to
wide open areas and not foresred lands.that is where the atlatl would have been more efficiant

i hope you find a design that suits you,and good luck and happy hunting with it.
one question,is it legal to hunt with a spear where you live?its not here.

Thats one rad spear man.  Is it legal to use one in Florida I think they would put us under the jail here in TX.

no i havent thrown it, if i was going to i would throw it into a solid block of styrofoam.   i think when it comes time to try one i will make one about the same weight with a metal blade to practice with hat way i dont chip my stone blade all to pieces.

yeah its legal to hunt with a spear here under certain circumstances
