Moccasin Patterns?
« on: May 09, 2009, 06:49:10 pm »
That moccasin thread got me thinking, I have some leather laying around that needs to be made into moccasins but i just need a pattern. Does anyone have one or know where i can find a pattern for some knee high moccasins?
Thanks

Check out the site Wade gave.  I've seen his mocs, they were sweet.

Thats  a very cool thread ! Only problem I have is the tanned hide price...you can orde these knee high boots for about 80 bucks...most guys want 100 dollars just for the hide . If Im wrong let me know where to get a cheap tanned hide !

Kill a deer and tan the hide. :) Don't get much cheaper than that. :)

Brain tanning a deer is labor intensive but not hard and you wind up with a beautiful set of moccasins. If you start braintanning though go buy some cheap garage sale tools like blenders and tubs wives tend to  get upset when they catche you making a brain smoothie in the family blender.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.
